Who we are

Mapache Market is a Xicanx, queer-owned, punk-inspired art brand built on the belief that creativity is a form of resistance and survival. Born from late-night sketches, lived experience, and a lot of caffeine, this space is for the ones who feel too much, care too deeply, and keep showing up anyway.

The name Mapache (Spanish for raccoon) is more than just a nod to the mischievous little trash bandits we know and love. It’s a symbol of adaptability, grit, and thriving in the margins. Raccoons don’t ask for permission—they just are. And that’s the energy behind everything Mapache’s Market.

Here, you'll find hand-drawn art, stickers, clothing, and creative goods made with equal parts tenderness and teeth. Each piece is designed to challenge norms, uplift queer voices, and add a little chaotic joy to a world that desperately needs it.

This is joy smuggled past the system.

This is resistance in the form of art.

This is healing in a hoard of shiny treasures.

This is Mapache's Market. For the rebellious and slightly feral, come for the chaos and stay for the collective joy.

Sometimes the artist is also the punchline.

(Head Gremlin in Charge)

A self-portrait, allegedly.

Hi, my name is Lauren, and I am out here living the dream of Head Gremlin in Charge of Mapache’s Market. A little bit about me:

  • Queer

  • Xicanx

  • Artist

  • Emotional raccoon

  • and sometimes… a straight clown 🤡 (but gayly, iykyk.)

I make art for the soft punks, the weird kids, and the ones still surviving on spite and glitter. Mapache’s Market is my little raccoon den of resistance, joy, and chaotic creation.

I started Mapache’s Market as a place to turn grief, rebellion, and late-night sketching into something worth hoarding. Everything here is hand-drawn with teeth and tenderness.
